Holiday season is upcoming and one of the biggest traditions in the U.S. is Thanksgiving Day and especially Thanksgiving dinner, the famous Thanksgiving turkey & amazing turkey recipes.
On our blog we are focusing on creating the family feeling through the holiday season for international students living in New York without their family, and first out is the Thanksgiving celebration. Macy's Thanksgiving Parade:
If you're an early-bird you should kick off this special day with Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Which starts around 9am, but people are starting to find their places around the parade route already at 6am. So prepare to wake up early!
The parade will start at 77th street (close to The Museum of Natural History) and runs all the way down to the main Macy's store at Herald Square on 34th street.
Another big tradition on the Thanksgiving Day is to watch NFL football games. Most people are gathering with their families in front of the TV or at the game arena it selves. But as studies shows, most students don't have a TV and the tickets for the games are really expensive.
